Once you open Talend you can create your connections to db or file by below mentioned sections
You have to write the profiles , like what you want to see in data , there are many inbuild algorithms are available which are commonly needed and sufficient for global profiling if you do not have very specific requirement .
Note : While first use make sure you have active internet connections as Talend try to download required JARs if not available .
